TOM BIRCHALL RIP

Colwyn Bay former President and club stalwart passes away.

Colwyn Bay Cricket Club are saddened to report the passing of Tom Birchall. last Sunday (5th).

Tom was a stalwart of the club joining in 1962 when he came to Rhos from Llanrwst and opened his dental practice on Rhos Road.

In his playing career, he was second team captain in the 1970s and played more than 90 matches for the firsts.

He was a wonderful contributor to the club both with his time and generosity in helping to fund various projects, most recently the upgrading of the electronic scoreboard. His organisation and efforts in putting on the County Championship games was legendary.

He took on various roles on the Management Committee, Fixture Secretary, Chair of Cricket and became Club President in 2014 retiring in 2019.
