NORTHERN TRIUMPH ON ECB T20 FINALS DAY

Northern won through on an excellent finals day , but only after a real scare in their semi final against Wallasey.when the Wirral outfit fell just four runs short after being in a commanding position, Formby cruised past a below par Rainford leaving Northern and Formby to fight out the final.

Ian Cockbain's 48 built the Formby total of 109-8, before a 50 run parthership from Tyler McGladdery and Alex Vincent set Northern on course for the win with skipperr James Cole sterering his side safely home with 24 no.

Best bowling performances of the day: Ian Souness 4 for 6 v Rainford; Dan Wilson 4 for 11 v Wallasey; George Burrows 3 for 4 v Rainford;
