NATHAN ASHFORD IS THE SECOND RECIPIENT OF THE CHRIS WESTON BURSARY

The 21 year old heads for New Zealand in October.

This year’s recipient of the Chris Weston * Bursary is Spring View opening batter Nathan Ashford. Nathan, 21, has a coaching qualification, and follows last year’s Liverpool Competition player Luke Russell (Colwyn Bay) to spend the next six months playing for University Grange in the Dunedin Premier League.

Four strong candidates were forwarded this year to the New Zealand Club with Nathan being their choice.

University Grange are hoping to reciprocate in 2025 by enabling one of their young players to benefit with a season in our League..

* The bursary is a tribute to former Secretary Chris Weston following his 26 years outstanding service to the League.
