SKELMERSDALE WOMEN LIFT HARDBALL SUPER 8's DEVELOPMENT TROPHY

Skelmersdale Women's first foray into hardball cricket has ended in success with the West Lancashire team taking the Super 8's Development trophy. With two points separating them and leaders Maghull going into the last round of fixtures it meant that the meeting between the two at Blaguegate Lane would see the victors crowned as champions.

Batting first, the home side posted a modest 243 after losing 7 wickets (Jennie McNab 2-23). In pursuit, Maghull looked comfortable when the last pair came to the wicket. However, a burst of 3 wickets from Captain Abbie Wright turned the tables, giving Skelmersdale victory by 13 runs and securing the title.
