PROPOSED JUNIOR CRICKET ARRANGEMENTS

PROPOSED JUNIOR CRICKET ARRANGEMENTS

Plan to supplement friendly cricket with a structured competition for U11 U13 and U15s

Now that we have confirmed information that Cricket is to return from 11 July, subject to Stage 4 adaptions and the Covid Health and Safety Regulations and Guidance for bringing your club and ground back into use, we propose to provide limited junior competitive cricket for those clubs that want it, with a view to starting in the week commencing 27 July.  From early feedback we know that clubs are busy organising friendly cricket and this is great. In addition we are offering for the U11 U13 U15 age groups structured competition, with one league game a week for five weeks.

In locally organised groups it is proposed to fixture one game each week for each club in each age group for five weeks (with the school term starting on 2 September). The game is to be played, within that week, at a date and time agreed between the two clubs. Matches are to be played as set out for each age group in the 2019 handbook.  All games will be loaded onto play-cricket and results must be posted by the home club to enable league positions to be kept up to date. Medals will be awarded to the winning team in each group.

It is also proposed to organise U9 groups to play soft ball cricket on Sunday mornings (enabling parents to attend) using the same model as adopted by the MYC in recent seasons, starting on Sunday 2 August for four consecutive Sundays.

Full details of this have been sent direct to the 24 clubs registered to play in the Liverpool Competition Junior League this season, who must reply to Phill O’Brien pctzobrien@gmail.com  if they wish to take part, by 12 July. All other clubs have been sent details for their information.
