GET YOUR CAPTAINS DBS’d!
Date: 2nd April 2019
This cropped up at the Captain’s Evening last week, here it is for all of us.
ECB requires that all captains be DBS’d, it’s child protection.
DBS means “Disclosure and Barring Service” it replaces the old “CRB” which has now gone completely.
This is what a club does to get a person like a captain DBS’d:
1.The first point of contact is supposed to be the Club Welfare Officer who will ….(in Lancashire)
2. …..contact the (Lancashire) County Welfare Officer Mike Buckley, supplying him with the person’s email address and asking formally for this person (insert role ……….) to be DBS’d.
[Mike Buckley / County Welfare Officer/ Lancashire Cricket Foundation / Emirates Old Trafford / Talbot Road / Manchester /M16 0PX / M: 07710 421 231 / E:mbuckley@lancashirecricket.co.uk]
This authorises the applicant as a bona-fide club applicant.
Mike Buckley will …..
3. ……then send the captain an e-link which enables the captain to start the process which is now entirely on line and free.
4. There is an equivalent process in Cheshire for the Wirral Clubs and in North Wales for the Welsh clubs.
