2023 was another wonderful year of cricket in the LDCC, most importantly demonstrated by the increase in numbers participating.
Especially pleasing is the growth in Women and Girls Cricket. Our sport in the Comp is truly universal.

Participation in youth and junior cricket continues to grow, and our members clubs engagement in All Stars and Dynamos demonstrates our region wide commitment to developing the game.

All this would not be possible without the tireless efforts of your Chair Eddie Shiff, the incredible John Williams as your acting secretary as well as leading the juniors, together with the rest of the management volunteer committee who do so much to make it all happen.
These are very special people who should be cherished.Without them,the Comp would not function.

We should also be proud to be in the vanguard of EDI initiatives,and note that the outstanding work and report produced by Liz Sinker which preceded the ECB report on the same topic. Once again the Comp leading the way.

It all leads to more young and not so young cricketers enjoying the best game in the World. And who knows, maybe one day they might follow in the footsteps of Ormskirk's Tom Hartley who will travel to India for his first England Test tour.
