WOMEN'S INDOOR FINALS DAY 2020 - 4 TEAMS GO HEAD TO HEAD.

Date: 7th March 2020

Firwood Bootle Belles, Colwyn Bay, Northern Ninjas and Liverpool through to final on Sunday 8 March

Colwyn Bay, Liverpool and Northern join last year’s inaugural winners Firwood Bootle, at the Liverpool Competition Women’s Indoor Tournament this Sunday to do battle for the 2020 title. Due to the huge growth of women’s cricket across our league, a total of 12 teams have competed in two qualifying groups as clubs vie for the honour of becoming 2020 Indoor Champions. The cricket has been exciting, hard fought and played in excellent spirit.

Across both of the groups, final places were determined in the very last round of games. In Group A last year’s runners up Old Xaverians were knocked out by Liverpool with a stand out bowling performance by Lola Roots. Colwyn Bay topped the group with a 100% record with well executed game plans and strong all round performances by the Kennedy and Jones sisters.

In Group B, defending Champions Firwood Bootle Belles took top spot winning 4 of their 5 games helped by decisive performances with both bat and ball by Hannah Gallimore and Rachel Porter. They were joined in the Finals by Northern Ninjas who nosed out Wavertree to take second spot, aided by spearhead Eleanor Sinker - on wickets taken.

Excitement is building for what promises to be a fascinating duel between the 4 clubs. The action gets underway at 1pm on Sunday 8th March at Toxteth Firefit in Liverpool. At the conclusion, as well as presenting medals and the Trophy there will also be a Player of the Tournament Award, new for this year and sponsored by Icon Sports.
