It all starts on 20 April.

The 2019 Liverpool Gin Liverpool Competition fixtures are published today, covering all twelve divisions.

On the opening day (20 April) in the Premier Division reigning champions Northerrn host Rainhill whilst newly promoted Southport ad Birkdale make the short trip down the A565 to Formby. Recent weeks have seen signs of great excitement coming out of the Orrell camp, tasting Premiership cricket for the first time. They will no doubt be delighted to start off with a home fixture against Ormskirk.

Competition in Division 1 will inevitably be fierce again and day one has thrown together last season's two promoted clubs, Division 2 champions Old Xaverians and Northop Hall. On this occasion the Welsh club will do the travelling. The first Saturday also sees a tasty local derby with Wigan hosting Highfield.

All eyes will be on Norley Hall in Division 2 following their promotion into the Comp from the Southport and District League. They are rewarded, first up, with a mouth-watering home fixture against Liverpool.

Thanks must go to Eric Hadfield and Rob Durand for once again doing an excellent job. We recognise that cricket does not take place in isolation of local community activity and this year amongst the club requests taken into account when compling the fixtures are the known and possible county championship games ; the traditional bank holiday fixtures between New Brighton and Wallasey; Caldy's rugby sevens; Burscough's beer festival; Rainford's Walking day; Northern's marquee week; Orrell's proms night; Football commitments on Birkenhead Park; Leigh's President's day; Rainhill's outfield work; the Annual Borough sports day at St Helens Town and Lytham Club day.

Liverpool Competition Chairman John Williams said " We are all set for another great season and we thank Liverpool Gin for their continued sponsorship. Their support is really appreciated.
