PAUL BATE APPOINTED AS THE COMP'S WOMENS and GIRLS CRICKET OFFICER

Date: 28th February 2018

League conscious that more can be done to help develop the Womens and Girls game.

We are pleased to announce that Paul Bate has been appointed as the Liverpool Competition’s Women’s and Girls Cricket Officer. Paul is attached to the Old Xaverians club where he has set up a thriving Girls section over the past 12 months and has been delivering cricket sessions to the girls at St Hilda’s High school, Liverpool for over two years.  A qualified cricket coach, Paul played for Bolton Cricket Club before moving across to Merseyside.

League Chairman John Williams said " We are pleased to appoint Paul. As a league we have been conscious for some time that we have not really engaged with developing the Women's and Girl’s game. We know that some clubs have made major progress in this area, Leigh being a good example, together with Old Xaverians and Hightown St Mary’s, but we know that we can do more to help". .

Paul’s role is to help those clubs that wish to develop Womens and Girls sections and in particular ensure that our clubs make full use of the excellent opportunities and events offered by the County Women’s and Girls section at the Lancashire Cricket Foundation. Paul will also be a full member of the Cricket Committee.
