LIVERPOOL GIN ANNOUNCED AS THE NEW SPONSOR

Willow Water for the Juniors and Colts

The Liverpool and District Cricket Competition, the only accredited ECB Premier League in Lancashire, is pleased to announce a new sponsor. Huyton-based Halewood Wines and Spirits have agreed a three year deal with the League which will henceforth operate as The Liverpool Gin Liverpool and District Cricket Competition.

As in previous years the sponsorship particularly supports the Liverpool Competition’s extensive and successful representative cricket programme and whilst the senior sides will showcase the Liverpool Gin logo, the League’s U12 U14 and U18 teams will display the company’s Willow Water brand on their shirts.

Halewood Wines and Spirits is the UK’s largest independent alcoholic drinks manufacturer and distributor. Still family owned, Halewood has a comprehensive product range covering all drinks categories, including wines, spirits, beers, ciders, and bottled water. The key brands include award-winning Whitley Neill, J.J. Whitley, Liverpool gins and vodka, Marylebone Gin, Bajan Rum Sixty Six, Crabbie’s Alcoholic Ginger Beer, The Pogues Irish Whiskey, and Red Square Vodka.

The company has been developing its craft spirits portfolio over the last 18 months, through a number of brand acquisitions and new product launches and has invested in a new gin and vodka distillery in Liverpool.

John Williams, Liverpool Competition Chairman, delighted with the new arrangement, took the opportunity to thank previous sponsors Med imaging Ltd. “They signed up for three years and gave us four and stepped in at a particularly difficult time for the League” he said. “ With 42 clubs playing in 11 divisions the support from Halewood will enable us to continue to provide high quality cricket for all those that wish to play throughout our area as well as providing excellent opportunities for our many youngsters who wish to progress in the game”.

A spokesperson for Halewood Wines & Spirits said: “We are delighted to be supporting the Liverpool Competition, particularly as it provides cricket across Merseyside and beyond, our home area.  The Competition continues to go from strength to strength and we’re really pleased to be a part of it.”
