We will also be working closely with Lancashire to maximise opportunities for cross county interaction, e.g. finals between winners of our competitions and the winners of respective competitions of the Thunder League.

For the purposes of L&DCC Women’s Cricket, we class senior cricket as 16+.This is unchanged for 2020. We are, though, changing the rules on the number and age of younger girls playing in senior competitions. A maximum of 3 players who are at least Year 8 as at 01/09/19 may play, per team.

(This is subject to review dependent on the competition. Any changes will be specified when applications are invited).

* Please note we will endeavour to run the activities on the specified dates for all outdoor competitions. However, this cannot be guaranteed this far out and all dates, therefore, are subject to change.

** APPLICATIONS for L&DCC WOMEN'S Indoor Tournament and L&DCC GIRLS U15 Softball Tournament taking place in Feb/March 2020, will open later this week **

NEW PAYMENT METHOD

The process of collecting team/club fees will differ this year. Competitions fees will be collected direct from the clubs via their twice yearly club statements (generated pre-season in April and post season in September). Once an application is submitted and there is space, this constitutes a booking and the fee becomes payable. Please make sure you have the full agreement of your club. This will reduce the time consuming task of collecting cash from the respective teams on the day at competition meets, and ensures that the activities the League are putting on for W&G cricket are financially sustainable. Last season the League had to cover the costs of conceded fixtures and in some instances, clubs withdrawing from the competition. Clubs may still collect fees from individual players at events, but this will be an internal matter for the respective clubs.

I look forward greatly to seeing this enhanced and expanded Programme rolled out across our area. It builds on the exceptional success of last year, and it will undoubtedly add further impetus to the growth, and quality, of female cricket in our clubs and League.

* Apologies, if you receive this email more than once via different Contacts groups
