Registration or Re Registration of Category 1b 3a and 3b players

Date: 11th March 2014

....for the coming season.

1.Clubs are reminded that they must re-register all their Category 3a players, i.e. the "Not Exempts",  in full in time for the coming season.

2. A ranking club official such as the Club Chair / 1st XI Captain / Secretary / Registration Secretary et al must also sign for  their Category 1bs and 3bs en bloc i.e. for their residency qualified players who are "rolling over" into 2014 without any change to their previous residency based qualification to play for England..

Residency qualified players will not be eligible to play in season 2014 without such processes having been completed.

7.1.2  The registration of all Category 3a (not exempt) players shall automatically lapse on 30th September and must be renewed in full as set out in Clause 4.1.2 in all or any subsequent seasons.

7.4    The current ECB residential criteria for Categories 1b and 3b (exempt) players are set out in Appendix 1 (clause 3.6.8) to this Section of the L&DCC Regulations.  Because there is a continuing need to verify that the criteria are met such registrations shall automatically lapse on 30th September and must be renewed in all subsequent seasons. Clubs must confirm in writing that they have examined evidence of their continuous residence in this country for such players, otherwise they will be deemed to be Category 3a players.  If a Category 1b or 3b (exempt) player has unavoidably due to personal reasons had to leave England and Wales for longer than the permitted period the Management Committee will consider such player’s submission for continued Category 3b (exempt) status and its decision shall be final.
