The Lancashire Cricket Foundation has an exciting opportunity to work as part of a team to improve grassroots cricket by delivering All Stars Cricket. This is an initial 7 month contract, with an extension subject to funding.

The successful applicants will need to be able to demonstrate, both in their application and at interview, their ability to deliver ‘All Stars Cricket’ showing excellent planning, interpersonal and project-management skills.

The role of All Stars Cricket will be flexible to meet the needs of both the applicant and the Lancashire Cricket Foundation. The hours and role on offer include the need for the successful applicant to work flexibly, which may include evenings and/or weekends and may be required to work additional hours to meet the peak needs of the programme.

JOB DESCRIPTION

JOB TITLE:                                                    All Stars Cricket Champion (Merseyside & South West Lancs)

CONTRACT                                                     7 months, 37.5 hours per week

SALARY:                                                         Cricket Development Coach Band

RESPONSIBLE TO:                                       Head of Cricket Relationships

BASED AT:                                                     Home

INTERNAL LIAISON:                                   Lancashire Cricket Foundation (LCF)

EXTERNAL LIAISON:                                   England & Wales Cricket Board (ECB), County Sports Partnerships (CSPs), Local Authorities, Cricket Partnerships, Relevant Leagues, Clubs and Education establishments

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB

Responsible to the Head of Cricket Relationships and employed by the Lancashire Cricket Foundation, the post holder will be responsible for overseeing ECB ‘All Stars Cricket’ across a section of the County. In 2017, the ECB launched All Stars Cricket, a brand-new programme aimed at providing 5-8 years with a great first experience of the game.  In year one, just under 40,000 children took part in All Stars Cricket in clubs across England and Wales. In 2018, we aspire to recruit 100,000 kids into the programme. 

This won't be possible without having brilliant people supporting clubs and new centres. 

MAIN DUTIES

Work with clubs & organisations to convert expressions of interest into active All Stars Cricket centres

·         Manage All Stars Cricket centres in a designated cluster of the County dealing directly with clubs (& others) to ensure its successful delivery

·         Provide support to All Stars Cricket clubs or others and share problem solving and best practice at a regional level

·         Accredit venues and be responsible for the quality assurance of centres

·         Support Activator recruitment, in programme support, training and training plans in association with ECB Regional Youth Executives

·         Promote participation at All Stars Cricket centres, support club marketing plans and enhance school / club partnerships

·         Identify local schools for marketing and promotion in KS1 cohorts identifying staff to deliver school activities and local promotion, ensuring it is supported by marketing collateral

·         Promoting All Stars Cricket extensively in local primary schools and encouraging transition into local centres.

·         Provide timely reports and case studies on All Stars Cricket and any other statistical information as required.

·         Support the team in promoting equal opportunities in the workplace and delivering services, which are accessible, and appropriate to the diverse needs of service users

·         Personal commitment to continuous self-development and service improvement – linking into annual appraisal

·         Through personal example, open commitment and clear action, ensure diversity is positively valued, resulting in equal access and treatment in employment, service delivery and communications

·         Work unsociable hours as required

·         Follow Data Protection principles and policies and keep data secure and encrypted as advised

·         Conduct risk assessments and report accidents and injuries

·         To adhere to the Lancashire Cricket Foundation Policies and Procedures on confidentiality and the management and sharing of information

·         Wear and maintain issued uniform or clothing as directed and maintain conduct in accordance with the high profile of the Lancashire Cricket Foundation and other partners

KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS REQUIRED

·         Some experience of coordinating projects to completion

·         Good with IT applications, to an intermediate level in the use of Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.

·         Excellent organisation, planning skills and ability to multi-task.

·         Good communication skills, both verbal and written.

·         Attention to detail.

·         Ability to filter information and assess priorities.

·         Ability to develop and maintain good working relationships at all levels.

·         Ability to prioritise and manage own workload amid conflicting demands and busy work periods.
