L&DCC WOMEN & GIRLS SOFTBALL LEAGUE DEBUT'S AMID SUNSHINE AND FESTIVAL ATMOSPHERE

....a brilliant start!

History was made yesterday as the first ever all female L&DCC Softball Cricket League took its inaugural bow at Maghull CC.

With the planning over, 10 women's and girls' teams competed across 4 pitches. Played in great spirit and with huge enthusiasm, the teams comprised many new entrants as well those formed during the last 12 months. Great skills abounded, with lots of 4's and 6's struck and there were numerous high scoring games. The first of 5 meets to take place over the 2019 season, saw Firwood Bootle and Old Xaverians take an early lead in the Women's League with both teams winning their 3 games. Old Xaverians U15 lead the girls table.

Many thanks to Gareth Lloyd and all at Maghull who hosted the event brilliantly.

The next Meet takes place at Northern CC on Sunday 9th June, when 12 teams will be competing. The anticipation is already building.......
