Opening Weekend: PLAY IF YOU CAN, REARRANGE IF YOU CAN'T

Still significant concerns about grounds and pitches being ready.
We confirm that the Liverpool Gin Liverpool Competition Season will start on Saturday 21st and Sunday 22nd April.
However, in light of the significant concerns still being expressed to us by a number of clubs that, owing to the continued poor weather, they remain unable to work on their grounds to prepare safe and appropriate conditions for the opening weekend, the following will apply to all games, 1st , 2nd and 3rd X1s scheduled for the weekend of the 21st and 22nd of April:
All games that can be played should be played. The home club must confirm with the Fixture Secretary Rob Durand rob.durand@btinternet.com, by no later than 5pm on Thursday 19th April, that the game is going ahead and confirm this with the opposition by email or .txt exchange, copying in the Fixture Secretary.
1. If the game is unable to be played, the home club must confirm this by email or .txt exchangewith Rob Durand (as above) by no later than 5pm on Thursday 19th April and confirm this with the opposition again by email or .txt exchange.
2. The League will inform the MCUA.
3. Games as in 2. above, not played, are to be rearranged by agreement of the two clubs for a date (including bank holidays if agreed) by email or .txt exchange, copying in the Fixture Secretary, no later than the 31st July. The home club must notify the Fixture Secretary of the new date by no later than Friday 27th April by email or .txt exchange. This date cannot then be changed. Failure to do so will result in the game being classified as a “No Result” with 5 points each.
4. Games as in 1. above, intending to play, but not able to start on the 21st /22nd April because of weather on the day (or the day before), then have the same status as in 2 above and can be rearranged.
5. Games as in 1. above, intending to play, that start and then are abandoned owing to weather, cannot be rearranged and normal playing regulations will apply. [Handbook 2018, P48 5.5.3] See also:
