CHANGE OF DIRECTION AT AINSDALE

Club looking to appoint Player/Coach

An exclusive for the L&DCC website from our special correspondent

Ainsdale’s departure from the Liverpool Competition’s top flight has forced the club to take a long hard look at where they want to be and how they want to operate.

The immediate decision is to forego their proud history and tradition of engaging a high profile overseas professional and look more locally for someone to enhance and work with their 1st X1 together with the whole club.

Chairman Dave Newcombe explained, “Following relegation we got together to look at last year, look at where we are now and look at where we want to be in the future”.

Careful to point out that the club still has every ambition to return to the Premier Division when the time is right he said “We had a number of young lads with us in 2017 and they are all keen to give it a crack again as soon as possible, but we know we have to learn from the experience. Our skipper Andy Barlow believes the right player/coach will be a fresh voice in the club and will significantly enhance player performance as well as giving a coaching direction within the club”.

Newcombe adds that although the club has a strong set of 17 to 25 olds he is conscious that there is a current lack of numbers in the lower age groups and that this is one of the areas the new appointment and the club are keen to address.

Full details of how to apply are featured in the Club Notice Board section of this website.
