Liverpool Competition to again run competitions on behalf of LCB

Seven Cricket Leagues are all set to challenge for the LCB U12 and U14 Inter-League competitions in 2017, once again being run by the Liverpool and District Cricket Competition on behalf of the LCB.

2016 saw the Greater Manchester Cricket League carrying off the U14 Michael Roche Trophy with the Liverpool Competition picking up the U12 Alan Wright Shield.(pictured after their win against the Palace Shield at New Brighton).

The draw was made at a recent meeting at Emirates Old Trafford with the Liverpool Competition in group one with Pennine CL, Palace Shield, and the Lancashire League and the Ribblesdale CL, Greater Manchester CL and the Bolton CL allocated to group two. Matches are to be played over a set series of Sunday’s throughout the summer.

Rob Durand, Liverpool Competition Fixture and Results Secretary, said “The competition ran very smoothly last year and we are hoping for the same again”.

Steve Titchard, LCB Performance Manager welcomed the arrangements for the coming season saying “This activity now feeds directly into the Board’s Development of Excellence Committee. It sits alongside the established District Cricket Structure and taken together they provide an ideal stepping stone into County age group cricket”.
