Bohannon leads Glayzer's men to triumph at Bamford Fieldhouse
Ormskirk reach the ECB National KO Semi Finals with a fine seven wicket win over Bamford Fieldhouse.
Bamford Fieldhouse 172-6 (45) S.Lees 2-28. N Caunce 2-40
Ormskirk 173-3 (41.1) J Bohannon 85no M Glayzer 38no I Robinson 23
Tidy bowling backed by a particularly energetic and effective fielding display ultimately stifled Bamford Fieldhouse’s attempt to post a big total and played a big part in Ormskirk’s win. As well as two wickets apiece for the opening pair of Scott Lees and Nicky Caunce, Ian Robinson produced a miserly spell of 1 for 24 off 9 and Jack Snowdon and Tom Hartley bowled at no more than four an over.
After losing Jones and Baybutt with just 28 on the board, Robinson and Bohannon, helped by two dropped catches, patiently built the foundation for the win. Bohannon batted superbly and when Robinson perished was joined by skipper Matt Glayzer to share an 85 run partnership which steered their side safely into the National semi-finals.
