WEEK 11 RESULTS and ROUND UP.

Leigh, Burscough and Skelmersdale all win to stay on top.

Leigh remain top in the PREMIER Division after recovering from 19 for 4 to post 168 for 8 against Rainford. Luis Reece and Hedley Molyneux then took five wickets apiece, including a hat-trick for Molyneux as Rainford were bowled out for 56. Northern are second after a 26 run win at New Brighton and Ormskirk are in third place following their 123 run win over Birkenhead Park with Andrew Baybutt hitting 119. Wallasey recorded a fine seven wicket victory over Formby with Greg Beaver seeing them home with 96 not out. Two last wicket draws were the feature of the remaining games with Bootle holding out against Colwyn Bay and Lytham just failing to overtake Lytham in the day’s closest finish.

Burscough retain the top slot in DIVISION 1 with a 121 run win at Maghull whilst Northop Hall jump into second place after James Hurlin’s star performance with 111 not out and 5 for 34 took them to a seven wicket win over Highfield. Ainsdale had a comprehensive 95 run victory at Prestatyn and Southport and Birkdale won by five wickets at Newton Le Willows. Fleetwood Hesketh hung on for a draw at Sefton Park and Orrell’s game at Wigan was abandoned without a ball being bowled.  

Skelmersdale march on with a seven wicket win against Wavertree in DIVISION 2 with St Helens Town, despite not bowling a ball in their game at home to Caldy, moving into joint second place with Old Xaverians who lost by eight wickets to Spring View. Liverpool with 92 from Chris Tonge and six wickets from Sean Hogan recorded a 138 run win at Hightown St Mary’s and Alder beat Southport Trinity by four wickets. Sutton finally got off the mark and off the bottom with a 41 run win at Parkfield Liscard.
