LIVERPOOL ECHO COVERAGE

Date: 4th May 2016

A message from Paul Edwards

The competitive league season is three weeks old and the first thing I would like to do is thank all the clubs who have put their full scorecards on Playcricket so promptly on a Saturday evening. It has been an enormous help to me as the Liverpool Echo’s cricket correspondent. The sports desk at the Echo requires me to send them my copy as promptly as possible and it is enormously useful to have the scorecards, along with fall of wickets etc., available. Unfortunately, one or two scorers are still not finding the time to do this and so this note is also a gentle encouragement to them from someone who used to fill in results sheets and knows that it can be something of a chore at the end of a long day.

Also, over the past fortnight officials at Rainford and Sefton Park CCs have sent me photographs of their games. These excellent shots have appeared in Monday’s Echo and the paper is delighted to receive photographs from Saturday’s games. I urge other clubs, particularly those in the Echo’s catchment area, to follow the examples set. It does give you an opportunity to publicise the performances of your players and the paper is happy to credit the work of budding photographers. Please send pics to this address: sport@liverpool.com and let me ( paul.edwards44@btopenworld.com ) know which photos have been sent.

Finally, I would be grateful if clubs would tell me when they have arranged their Liverpool Echo Knockout matches and also send me brief details of each match when it has been played, along with notable performances in the game. Many thanks.
