REPRESENTATIVE CRICKET GETS A BOOST IN 2015

Seniors to visit Saddleworth; Juniors in LCB Premier Divisions

The 2015 cricket season sees Representative Cricket in the Med Imaging Liverpool and District Cricket Competition on a scale larger than ever before. With last year’s hat-trick of successes in the Readers Lancashire Seniors and Colts competitions and the U14 Lancashire Michael Roche Trophy now a distant memory, a full book of fixtures provides Liverpool Comp players with a great opportunity to test themselves at Representative Level.

Our Seniors travel to the Saddleworth League in defence of their Readers title (won jointly with North Lancs and Cumbria) in a game that will be played on 7th June. The Colts (U18) once again to be coached by Andy Grice, initially face two group games against the Ribblesdale League and North Lancs/Cumbria.

The Under 21 side play their traditional match against the MCC on the first Monday in August with Wallasey CC kindly agreeing to host the fixture. This will be followed by an U21 fixture against the Northern League U21’s at Blackpool CC on Friday 14 August.

An U16/17 Colts side will once again take on the Lancashire U15’s, in the second week of May, as a warm up match for the County side before they take part in the ECB competition. The same Comp age group will have a further game in late July when we host the Dilip Vengsarkar Cricket Academy who are touring in the North West of England.

In a change from the previous knock out arrangement the LCB U14 (Michael Roche Trophy) and LCB U12 (Alan Wright Trophy), again to be coached by Andy Barlow, are now to be played in a League format.  Both Comp age groups have been placed in the corresponding Premier Divisions and will have five matches to play against the Palace Shield, Wigan and District Junior League, Lancashire League, Lancashire County League and the Central Lancashire League.
