Pays tribute to his time in the Comp.

As cricketers across the Med Imaging Liverpool Competition prepare for a season which gets under way in just seven weeks’ time, former Lytham and New Brighton scorer Scott Churchman is also getting ready for a fresh challenge when he takes up his position as first-team scorer at Yorkshire Premier League side Sheffield Collegiate.

Churchman has scored for Lancashire Colts, Leeds/Bradford MCCU and Oxford University, the latter appointment leading to him notching a Varsity match at Lord’s, but he acknowledges that the week-to-week experience of scoring in the Liverpool Competition has been vital in his development.

“The Liverpool Competition Premier helped me grow professionally” he said. “I would like to express my thanks to the league, its member clubs, and the first class management and club officials and umpires for many happy memories”

“The league gave me a great platform to serve further in my endeavours and passion. I pay special tribute to my close scoring colleagues and friends whose efforts are truly monumental. It was pleasure to share games with them. I am sure more will come in future competitions. I particularly thank Chris Rimmer and add the wish that others may follow in his steps.

“I would also like to extend my gratitude to Lancashire CCC for five memorable years. I am sure the coming years for our county and our league will be awesome. I forecast a close contest between Josh Bohannon (S & B) and Will Hale (Lytham) to become 2015’s top batsman. Players from the senior ranks of Martyn Evans (NBCC), Neil Cross (Wallasey CC) and Johnny Armstrong (Ormskirk CC) will no doubt be keeping them in check."
