SEASON OF SUCCESS FOR REPRESENTATIVE SIDES

Date: 28th August 2014

Still two finals to go for U14 and U18

SENIOR REPRESENTATIVE CRICKET – Readers Lancashire Inter-League

Following the abandonment (due to heavy rain) of the Readers Lancashire Inter League Final against the North Lancashire/Cumbria League at Southport and Birkdale on 10 August it has not proved possible to arrange an alternative date. (The N Lancs/Cumbria League play their final league fixture on 6 September). The organisers have therefore decided that the Trophy and the Competition should be shared between the two leagues in 2014.

The L&DCC side reached the final with two comprehensive wins over the Bolton League and the Lancashire County League and we look forward to taking part again next year.

U18 REPRESENTATIVE CRICKET – Readers Lancashire Inter-League

Our U18’s have qualified for the final against the Bolton League in a game to be played on Sunday 21 September at a Bolton League ground to be announced. In a sequence of group games badly affected by rain we recorded a win over the Saddleworth League at Whalley Range in July following an abandoned game against the Central Lancs League in June. The game against the Bolton Association on 10 August fell victim to rain.

U14 REPRESENTATIVE CRICKET – LCB Michael Roche Trophy

This age group have had a good season with wins against the Palace Shield and Lancashire County League. The Bolton League conceded and with the game against the Central Lancs League abandoned due to rain the U14’S have reached the final and will play the Lancashire League as follows:

Sunday 14 September            L&DCC U14 v Lancashire League U14 at Liverpool CC

Thank you to all those players who have represented the League so well this season and particular thanks to Ian Robinson ( Seniors) and with thanks and all good luck in their finals to Andy Grice (U18) and Andy Barlow (U14).
