Guest Speakers and topics to prepare for new season

CAPTAINS CONFERENCE

 Bootle Cricket Club          Sunday 16 March 2014             11.00 to 3.00

As indicated at the AGM a pre-season conference for 1st X1 Captains is to be held as above.

Who should attend:

The 1st X1 Captains from the 36 Member Clubs (or designated senior player if the skipper is unavailable). An appropriate senior player from the 5 Associate Member Clubs.

Conference Content and Speakers

  • John Stanworth Lancashire County Cricket Club Academy Director

Two sessions:   1. Experiences of leading a team.   2. An insight into the current coaching practices in the LCCC Academy and Emerging Player Programmes.

  • David Jones and Hugh Evans  President and Chairman of the MCUA

A run through the Law changes for 2014 and a refresher and discussion on key laws and issues from previous seasons. The session will include guidance on completion of umpires marks cards.

  • Mark Boyns  Sefton Cricket Club

A presentation on the “Opening Up” programme. An extension of the initiative undertaken by Sefton Cricket Club in association with CALM now working with cricket clubs raising awareness of mental health issues among young men.

  • Lancashire Cricket Board (Bobby Denning/Paul Bryson to be confirmed)

An outline and discussion on the support available to clubs from the LCB and ECB

  • Discussion and sharing information on Arrangements for the 2014 season in respect of the following:

KO Cups: ECB t20 – pink balls; U16 and U21 Competitions; Over rates; Juniors in Adult Cricket; Reporting of results; Premier Division Ground Reports; Representative cricket.

  • Open Forum   An opportunity to ask questions and raise any issues with members of the Management Committee
  • Lunch provided
