Due to the likelihood of games being affected by the wet weather this weekend we take the opportunity of reminding clubs and captains of the appropriate rules and regulations that apply in Group Games. This is set out on page 27, paragraph 9.3.3 of the 2012 Rules and Regulations handbook as follows:
Group Matches: If it is not possible for both teams to receive the minimum 10 overs necessary to constitute a match, the match shall be declared Abandoned and each team shall be awarded a point.
The provisions in the knockout rules section relating to bowl out and toss of a coin, in paragraphs 2.1, 8.3, and 9.2.4, only apply in the later knockout stages.
Please also note that the final group placings and the calculations of net run rate will be agreed and verified at the Cricket Committee Meeting to be held on Tuesday 1st May at Wallasey CC. The draws for the last 16 stage of both competitions will also be made at this meeting and all are welcome to attend and observe if they wish. Full details of the draw will be posted on the www.lpoolcomp.co.uk website by no later than Wednesday 2nd May.
Please be aware that the publication of team qualifying information by any other party is unofficial and, in order to prevent the misunderstandings that occurred last year, should not be acted upon.
