We are looking for interested individuals to join a REVIEW GROUP looking at two current issues.
Date: 19th September 2016
Reviewing: 1. Cup formats and timescales 2. Player eligibility
The 2016 season has been a successful one on many levels continuing to provide quality and competitive cricket for nearly 130 teams across eleven divisions.
There have, however, been a number of recurring problems in two specific areas:
· Problems agreeing dates and playing cup-ties within set timescales
· Playing of ineligible players, particularly in 2nd and 3rd X1’s together with anecdotal evidence of players playing under aliases.
It is proposed to set up a REVIEW GROUP under the Chairmanship of Craig Jenkins (currently Minute Secretary to the Cricket Committee) to look at both issues with a view to making recommendations for improvement making it easier for clubs to meet their cup commitments and simpler to understand and apply eligibility arrangements.
CUPS
Specifically the group will review:
· the current 3 x 40/45 over competitions and the 5 x 20 over competitions including timings and play-by dates
· The relationship of the Liverpool Competition’s own competitions as above with the Echo Cup; the ECB U19 competition and other provincial competitions such as the Wigan T20.
ELIGIBILITY OF PLAYERS
Specifically the group will review:
· Current regulations for playing league cricket in 2nd 3rd (and below) teams
· Current regulations for playing in cup ties
We need players and club officials to help with this and volunteer to join the group. If you are interested or wish for more information please contact Craig on 07951427752 or jenkinsgc@hotmail.co.uk
