DISCIPLINARY REPORT - AGREED ACTION

Date: 10th August 2016

A report was received from the match between Northop Hall and Highfield on 2nd July 2016.

The umpires in this match initially awarded an ABB to the Northop Hall player, David Jacobs, for the offence of abusive behaviour towards an opponent.  In this same match the Highfield player Oliver Jump had been reported for dissent as described in the Bulletin dated 7th July.  The Disciplinary Committee asked the umpires for a report on the behaviour of the Northop Hall player.  Based on this report the Disciplinary Committee considered the offence too serious for an ABB and recommended to the club that an immediate ban of 1 week should be imposed with a further week suspended.

The club disputed the right of the Committee to vary the umpires' original decision but after protracted negotiations has now accepted the ban.which will commence at midnight on Friday 12th August and the 1 week suspended until the end of the 2017 season.

Clubs should be aware that the Disciplinary Committee has the right to investigate ANY disciplinary matter brought to its attention and take action accordingly.
