CUP DRAWS UPDATED ON PLAY_CRICKET
Date: 2nd June 2016
Some teams have not played by the reserve dates in Cup competitions.
Play-Cricket now allows rounds beyond those completed to be published to show those teams already through. This therefore allows those teams to see their opponents on Play-Cricket as soon as possible and they can proceed to arrange fixtures.
The Ray Digman Trophy, Chester Cup and Embee Trophy competitions were set up as Rounds 1, 2 and 3 before we knew of this capability on Play-Cricket. Round 3 has now been created for all three competitions.
However in the Chester Cup, because Ainsdale 2 only qualified this week and some teams had already played their Round 3 match Play-Cricket does not allow new teams to be added. At present the fixture Ainsdale 2 v Highfield 2 does not appear. If the Helpdaek can't rectify this a Round 4 Competition will need to be created. Fortunately this is not a problem with the Ray Digman Trophy as no Round 3 fixture has yet been played. 1st and 2nd XIs are reminded that the play-by date for playing these Round 3 matches is June 12th and the reserve date is June 19th when a result must be achieved.
To avoid a similar problem in the Embee Trophy, the published draw shows the ten teams that are already through together with the home teams from the six Round 2 matches still to be played, namely Northop Hall, Northern, Fleetwood Hesketh, Ainsdale, Rainford and Rainhill. If necessary these teams will be replaced with the actual winning teams as soon as they are known, hopefully by 5th June.
Three Round 3 fixtures are known, M'side C&C 1 v Colwyn Bay 3, Alder 3 v Bootle 3 and Goodlass 1 v Liverpool 3.
