REVISED ARRANGEMENTS FOR SATURDAY 16 APRIL

Date: 12th April 2016

Prepare and play if you can. If you cannot - rearrange.

GROUND PREPARATION for SATURDAY 16 APRIL and the WEATHER

In recent days we have been contacted by a number of clubs saying that due to the current weather conditions and the effects of constant rain in recent weeks, they are very concerned about their ability to prepare an adequate pitch and playing area for this Saturday 16 April.  A number are telling us that they can prepare something but it would not be of an appropriate standard.

The Management Committee has considered the matter over the last 24 hours and has agreed the following:

·         The aim should be to play as many fixtures as it is possible and safe to do so.

·         All Ray Digman and Chester Cup matches should remain as fixtured for Saturday 16 April.

·         If it is felt that the conditions at the designated home ground make it impossible to prepare an appropriate and safe playing area the HOME team may contact the AWAY team to inform them of this.

·         BOTH teams must agree a rearrangement date, at the HOME team ground and inform Eric Hadfield hadfield369@btinternet.com 07940264119 BEFORE 16 April. The rearrangement date must be no later than Sunday 8 May for preliminary round games and Sunday 22 May for Round 1 games.

·         The HOME team must notify John Farrell johnfarrell@orange.net 07470912325 immediately the game is cancelled, enabling him to notify the allocated umpires.

·         Note; It is not possible to switch venues between 1st and 2nd X1 games.

·         IMPORTANT RULE VARIATION in respect of games started on Saturday 16 April only. If the game once started is not able to be completed then irrespective of the state of the game and the number of overs completed – the game shall be replayed at the same venue. Run rate and/or bowl outs will not be activated on this occasion.

We hope that if the weather significantly improves in the next few days a significant number of games will be completed. If not we hope that clubs will have sufficient time to prepare their grounds for the start of the League season on 23 April.

Any queries in relation to the above should be directed to Eric Hadfield in the first instance.
