DISCIPLINARY REPORT

- ACTION TAKEN: FACTUAL UPDATE

With reference to the disciplinary hearing detailed below we now produce a factual update on subsequent events.

1. The case was referred again to the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) by Mr Swift.

2. After consideration of all information submitted by both parties the ECB has notified both Mr Swift and the L&DCC that they are confident that the L&DCC has followed ECB Model Guidelines and now view the matter as closed.

A second Disciplinary Hearing relating to the misuse of 'Twitter' under section 2.2.8 was held on the 25th July 2014.

Despite two previous warnings about his publication of abusive 'tweets' it has been necessary to charge Malcolm Swift (Ainsdale CC) with abuse of both another member club and of the Management Committee on his 'Twitter' account on July 5th 2014.

After the application and completion of the Disciplinary process including referral to the ECB and the LCB, Malcolm Swift is banned from all cricket for four weeks (two weeks previously suspended and two weeks for abuse on twitter) commencing at midnight on the Friday immediately before the start of the 2015 season with a further four weeks suspended until the end of season 2015.
