NEWS AND INFORMATION FOR CLUBS

NEWS ITEMS

1. Well done to all clubs in managing to, very nearly, post results on play-cricket, in time this weekend. We have registered our disappointment with the current situation and Officials at the ECB are fully aware of the problems, have apologised and are doing everything they can to sort it out. Meantime keep doing what you are doing.

2. Liverpool Cricket Club have asked us to thank all those clubs that have helped them in rearranging fixtures due to their commitments this summer to the County Fixture and the International Tennis Tournament (which they were asked to accept at very short notice). The club and indeed the League, is grateful to all those teams, 1sts, 2nds and 3rds for accommodating these events.

3. We know that clubs are rapidly arranging dates for cup fixtures – Ray Digman, Chester, Embee, U21 and U16. Please make sure that the date and details are entered on play-cricket. Thank you.

4. Clubs with Students playing under Registration Rule 8.1 please note that this applies to those in Full Time Education only. Evidence of this (including continuing evidence) must be provided on registration.

5. When reporting results Clubs should simply report the result with all the details. Clubs have no authority to claim games or points on play-cricket due to perceived ineligible players or any other reason. In circumstances where they believe this to be the case it should be immediately reported to the Management Committee who together with the Cricket Committee will adjudge on the matter.

6. A reminder that Club’s Annual Subscriptions are, as voted in by the clubs, due by the end of May.

7. Early update on the Annual Dinner 2014. Gladstone Small has been booked as the Guest Speaker.
