Carl was playing for Burscough 2nd X1 against Rainford 2nd X1 at School Lane on Saturday when after leaving the field complaining of chest pains he suffered a heart attack. One of the Rainford spectators was an experienced nurse and she helped to look after him until the ambulance arrived, very quickly. After being taken to Southport Hospital he was transferred to Broad Green Hospital where after overnight treatment he is making an excellent recovery. The latest news from Burscough Cricket Club is that he is recovering well and hopes to be back home soon.
